Scar treatment for scratched skin at Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic with Coratherapy
Hello, this is Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic, the beginning of Coratherapy for scar removal.
Scratches, nail scars, and similar scars often occur during childhood,
and in many cases, they are left untreated due to the lack of proper treatment methods.
Today’s case is a woman in her 30s who visited us with a scar on her left cheek
caused by a scratch from a cat during her childhood.
She mentioned that as she led a busy life, she became accustomed to the scar and somewhat forgot about it.
However, after graduating from university and starting her professional career,
she frequently encountered new people who commented on her scar.
This made her increasingly self-conscious, leading her to decide on treatment.
She had recently undergone several scar treatments at another clinic,
but did not feel significant improvement.
We assured her that this type of scar is one that Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic specializes in,
and proceeded with the treatment without any concerns.

The scar was quite deep and caused by a scratch.
Such scars typically have an irregular base.
Therefore, when the new tissue has almost filled in, the treatment must consider these irregularities.

After the 4th Coratherapy session
Here is a mid-treatment photo after the 4th session.
Overall, the tissue appears to be filling in well.
The outer edges of the scar still show slight depth compared to other areas.
This area exhibited less swelling during the treatment and felt more adhered.
Such strongly adhered areas may take longer to fill in.
The redness is still present, making the scar appear more prominent,
but as the redness subsides, noticeable improvement can be observed.

After the 8th Coratherapy session
Here is the final photo after the 8th session.
For scars with an uneven base, additional treatments are sometimes performed
to level the surface during the final stages of treatment.
However, in this case, the new tissue filled in evenly without any additional procedures.
The depth of the scar is no longer noticeable,
and the new tissue has reached the height of the surrounding normal skin, completing the treatment.
The patient’s mother expressed her relief and joy,
as she had been constantly concerned about the scar.
Now, she feels much more at ease.

Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic’s Coratherapy, which began in 2006,
uses specially designed needles for treatment.
This procedure not only breaks adhesions but also stimulates the dermis layer of the skin,
encouraging the regeneration of tissue to fill in depressed scars.
Coratherapy utilizes specially designed needles for the procedure.
Unlike simple straight needles, the ‘L’-shaped incision needles allow for precise stimulation of the scar,
enabling the treatment to blend more naturally with the surrounding normal skin.
Additionally, because the treatment promotes the growth of new tissue,
the treated scars do not sink back over time.
Scratched scars cannot be sufficiently improved with surface-level treatments alone.
Coratherapy, which stimulates the dermis layer to promote skin regeneration,
is most effective when combined with the extensive clinical experience
and delicate touch of a skilled Doctor.
