How to Remove Acne Scars, Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic Coratherapy Treatment
Hello, this is Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic, the beginning of Coratherapy for scar removal.
Acne scars can sometimes spread across the entire face, such as the cheeks or forehead,
but in many cases, there may only be one or two scars.
However, having fewer scars does not necessarily mean less concern.
In fact, even just one or two deep scars on the cheeks can draw attention like black dots on a white canvas,
causing significant stress.
In such cases, Coratherapy can be an option.
Unlike laser treatments, Coratherapy focuses specifically on the scarred areas,
minimizing irritation to normal skin while effectively improving scars.
So, what exactly is Coratherapy?
In today’s post, we’ll explain the principles of Coratherapy and share its effectiveness through actual treatment cases.
What is Coratherapy?

Coratherapy, conducted at Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic, is a traditional Korean medical procedure first introduced in 2006
to aid in the regeneration of skin in areas with depressed scars.
Using specially designed fine needles, it provides micro-stimulation to the skin, encouraging natural regeneration.
Coratherapy is not merely about stimulating the scarred areas;
it works by breaking down the adhesions in the skin tissue to create space for new skin to rise naturally.
It also stimulates the dermal layer to induce the production of regenerative substances.
These regenerative substances help repair the damaged dermal layer, which in turn
enables the scars to regenerate to the level of the surrounding normal skin.
One of the key advantages of Coratherapy is that it targets only the scarred areas,
causing less irritation compared to other treatments.
Additionally, since it relies on the skin’s natural regenerative power rather than injecting foreign substances,
there are no side effects caused by foreign materials.
Moreover, Coratherapy can treat acne scars, chickenpox/shingles scars, surgical scars, and
any type of depressed scars regardless of their cause.
So, how effective is Coratherapy?
Let’s take a look at actual cases to find out.
Actual Treatment Effects of Coratherapy

Case :: Depressed acne scars on both cheeks
History :: Previously underwent two Fraxel treatments with no results
Report :: Completed five sessions of Coratherapy
Today’s case involves a patient in their 20s who was concerned about acne scars on both cheeks.
Although the acne scars were not widespread,
the patient sought treatment due to the noticeable scars in certain areas.
Despite undergoing Fraxel laser treatments, there were no significant improvements,
leading the patient to discover Coratherapy and visit us.
Before the treatment, the scars were not numerous but included a mix of boxcar and icepick scars,
with particularly prominent scars on the front of the cheeks.
Initially, we planned six sessions of treatment.
However, contrary to our initial expectations, the patient’s recovery was remarkably fast.
Noticeable improvements were observed after just three sessions.
The depth of the acne scars reduced, and the skin became visibly smoother.
Even the deep icepick scars showed significant improvement.
As a result, the treatment plan was adjusted to five sessions, focusing on refining the remaining scars
and improving skin texture during the final two sessions.

Here is the photo after the fifth and final session.
The acne scars have improved to the point where they are barely visible,
and the skin texture has become more even.
Additionally, the pores have noticeably shrunk, enhancing makeup adherence,
which greatly satisfied the patient.
As shown, while Coratherapy may not resolve all issues in a single session,
regular treatments combined with proper care can lead to remarkable improvements.
Since the treatment relies on skin regeneration, proper care during the recovery period
ensures that no additional maintenance is required after completing the treatment,
allowing for a quicker and more comfortable return to daily life.
Today, we discussed what Coratherapy is and shared an actual treatment case.
Of course, the effectiveness of Coratherapy may vary depending on each individual’s skin condition.
However, with experienced medical professionals closely monitoring the improvement of scars
and providing personalized treatment, depressed scars can be sufficiently treated over time.
