Acne scars that could not be resolved even with Fraxel treatment, Coratherapy at Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic
Hello, this is Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic, the beginning of Coratherapy for scar removal.
Acne scars are a common concern for many people.
In particular, boxcar and ice pick acne scars are often difficult to improve with general treatment methods.
These depressed scars occur when acne inflammation penetrates the dermal layer of the skin, damaging collagen,
and during the recovery process, the skin fails to regenerate properly, leaving sunken marks.
Especially for deeply depressed scars, surface treatments like Fraxel laser alone
are often insufficient, requiring a more specialized approach.
In this article, we will discuss in detail the fundamental treatment methods for such acne scars.

Case :: Boxcar and Ice Pick Depressed Scars
History :: Previous Fraxel treatment with no significant effect
Report :: Completed 6 sessions of Coratherapy followed by VSM treatment
Today’s case involves a patient who was deeply concerned about severe boxcar and ice pick acne scars on both cheeks.
The patient had previously undergone Fraxel laser treatment,
but the results were minimal and unsatisfactory.
As mentioned earlier, deeply depressed scars like these
are difficult to improve with simple surface treatments alone.
Therefore, at Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic, we recommended Coratherapy,
a treatment designed to regenerate the skin from the dermal layer and help it return to its original state.
The treatment plan included a total of 6 sessions of Coratherapy followed by VSM treatment.
By the third session, significant improvement in the depth of the scars was already noticeable.
In particular, large boxcar scars had become much shallower, and the skin surface appeared smoother.

After completing the 6th session, the depth of the scars had significantly reduced,
but the patient was still concerned about the remaining redness of the skin.
This is a natural process that often occurs during the skin regeneration phase,
and it is usually a temporary phenomenon.

Fortunately, after 3 months post-treatment, the redness subsided,
and additional VSM treatment was performed to further refine the skin texture.
VSM treatment is a peeling procedure using seaweed (spicule),
which smooths the skin texture by exfoliating dead skin cells and clearing pores,
while also improving acne, pigmentation, and other skin concerns.
It helps to exfoliate and clear pores, improving acne and pigmentation.
Ultimately, the patient achieved a significant improvement in the deep boxcar and ice pick scars
that were a major concern when they first visited.
After the redness stabilized and the VSM treatment was completed,
the patient was able to resolve their concerns with improved skin texture and scars.

Deep acne scars that could not be resolved with Fraxel laser
were able to recover through Coratherapy,
thanks to the treatment principles of Coratherapy.
Since 2006, Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic has been performing Coratherapy,
which uses specially designed needles to break adhesions in scarred areas, induce collagen production,
and enhance the skin’s natural regenerative ability.
During this process, the skin regenerates from the dermal layer, treating the depressed scars.
However, the treatment results may vary depending on the patient’s skin condition, the severity of the scars,
and various factors including the skin’s regenerative capacity.
Therefore, it is important to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to each patient.
Acne scars are not just an external issue but can also cause psychological stress,
so it is important to regain confidence through appropriate treatment.
Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic is dedicated to thoroughly diagnosing skin conditions
and providing optimized treatment for each individual patient.
